New games: 28 June 2024 Edition
Well, that didn't take long. The Steam Summer Sale is only a few hours old, and I've already grabbed four deeply discounted games from my wishlist.
Well, that didn't take long. The Steam Summer Sale is only a few hours old and I've already grabbed four deeply discounted games from my wishlist.
- Mass Effect™ Legendary Edition
- Watch_Dogs 2
- Deus Ex: Mankind Divided - Digital Deluxe Edition
- Door Kickers: Action Squad
The original Mass Effect was the first PC game that I properly role-played. I recall the gameplay was a bit clunky, but I was enjoying the characters and sci-fi setting. Then you get to give that speech as Commander Shepard. It was so well delivered, especially with that soundtrack kicks into high gear. From that point on, I was sold on the Mass Effect trilogy and played it fully to completion. Say what you will about the ending... no other RPG has won me over like Mass Effect. Nab the full trilogy now for a cheeky fiver!
Watch underscore Dogs 2 was my favourite Watch Dogs game of the series. It was much more light-hearted than its predecessor, and even though I originally finished it on the Xbox, I needed to complete my Watch Dogs collection. Another deep 90% discount on Steam.
Mankind Divided was a divisive (hah!) game when it was released. Missing some of the charm of the Human Revolution's story. Many fans also found the new mechanics to be a bit unnecessary, and the publisher promptly abandoned the franchise shortly after. I grabbed it on sale a while back but quickly bounced off the game for some reason. However, Cyberpunk 2077 has given me a digital itch I'd like to scratch. The reviews are mostly positive, and as it costs less than £4, I'd be remiss not to take another brood in Adam Jensen's sunglasses.
Door Kickers: Action Squad caught my eye after I spent a lot of time playing Broforce on the arcade. Action Squad is a far cry from the tactical SWAT game that is Door Kickers, but I couldn't resist the low, low price of £3.
